Nature and Environmental Writing Book | Freelance
Every semester, Professor Nancy DeJoy and a small team of students create an anthology of work from her class, Nature and Environmental Writing. I, along with three other students, volunteered to compile, organize, and edit this book. In addition to that group effort, I took on the design and project management aspects. I used a photo taken by my fellow editorial member, Julian Fedorchuck, and designed the book cover. I also designed the interior aspects including font, font size, margins, page numbers, etc. This book was one of my favorite collaborative and creative projects I’ve done!
Illuminating Survivor Stories Postcard | Freelance
This was a freelance project for Professor Nancy DeJoy. She created a poetry sculpture and media installation to highlight the experience of being a sexual assault survivor. Nancy needed a postcard advertisement and invitation to her gallery show at the Broad Art Lab in East Lansing, which I was honored to design. The show ran from December 4-12, 2018. Website Redesign Proposal | ING Magazine
This was the product of an independent assignment while I worked with ING Magazine. The current website that the magazine is hosted on is outdated in both usability and design. I chose to prepare a wireframe of a fresh, new design using Canva to create the wireframe while drawing inspiration from Quotes Mag and Teen Vogue. After my well-received presentation, we drafted a redesign proposal to the company that owns the magazine, M3 Group.
Although we proposed certain WordPress themes for M3 Group for inspiration, they are actually using my design as the sole inspiration for the new website, which is a current work in progress.
2016 Donor Newsletter | Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD)
Each year, the RCPD sends out a donor newsletter update about where their money is going and who has joined the RCPD donor family. I crafted all content and had full responsibility for design. I referenced MSU’s brand standards in order to properly represent the university, as this is a department on campus.
Flyers | Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD)
These flyers were created for various on-campus events. Most of these events were to assist students with disabilities in preparing for their post-graduate careers. Canva turned out to be an easy solution for a time constraint and lack of resources in the office.
Flyers | MSU Writing Center
These flyers were created to help advertise the MSU Writing Center around campus. I referenced the MSU Brand Strategy color palette and used Canva.com to create the design.
